RESONANCE aims at developing a modal formalism for nanoresonators. In
contrast with classical Maxwell solvers operating in the time or
frequency domains, modal formalisms operate at complex frequencies set
by the natural resonance modes of the resonator.
They offer two decisive advantages. They highlight the importance of
the resonance mode in the analysis, removing the black-box sensation
experienced by users of classical Maxwell solvers and bring a high
degree of analyticity, offering unprecedented analysis performance.
